Thanks @maeltoukap! It's exactly for them we built this.
@usecos Thanks for the kind words!
@hqzhon two checks, both manual: the founder has to be a real person with verified social profiles (LinkedIn, X, GitHub), and I open and try every app before listing it, install from the store links if mobile, sign up if web. Non-functional apps don't get in, and ones that break later get delisted. I removed one last week whose store links led nowhere.
Slow, but it's why the directory isn't full of dead links.
Hey everyone — Valery here, builder of Builderswave 👋
I built this because African founders ship great products that are hard to discover. Most "African startup" lists are static databases full of dead links, and launching on the big platforms means competing for an audience that mostly isn't your market.
Builderswave does two things differently:
Every product is verified before it's listed: a real, working app behind every entry. 100+ so far across fintech, edtech, agritech and more. Weekly launches: founders get a proper launch moment in front of an audience that actually cares about African-built products.
Listing is free. If you've built something (or know a builder who has), I'd love to see it on the wave.
Happy to answer anything about how verification works or what we've learned from 100+ listings.
I wonder if affiliate programs could work with directory websites...
Thanks @sohailashraf8282. We will be glad if you do. Feel free to let us know if you need any assistance.
