Open-source plus full control of cost and data is also a sharp wedge against CoderPad and HackerRank for companies that do not want candidate code living on a third-party server. How does the edge execution hold up for languages with heavier runtimes, or when a take-home needs real dependencies installed?

The 'your cloud, your control' framing via Google Drive sync is a smart way to offer sync without becoming the data custodian, which is usually the trust problem with note apps. Offline-first with local storage by default is the part that wins over the privacy crowd. One thing I'd be curious about: how do you handle sync conflicts when the same note is edited on two devices before Drive reconciles? That is where most local-first plus cloud-sync tools get tricky, and nailing it would be a real selling point.

The one-tap logging is the right call. Most freelancers abandon time trackers because of the friction of remembering to start and stop a timer, so removing that step is the real differentiator here, more than the invoicing. Does it handle idle time or nudge you when a session runs unusually long? Those are the two spots where manual logs usually drift from what actually happened.
