Quick background on why this exists: I went through about 6 months of just not being able to get myself to the gym. Not injured, not busy, just no motivation. What actually got me moving again was accountability — tracking every session, seeing the log build up, not wanting to break the streak.
So I built Activ.run, originally just as a gym tracker for myself. Once I got back into training, I started running too, but I didn't have a GPS watch or any wearable yet — I just wanted to see my pace and distance somehow. So I added GPS running tracking straight into the app using the phone's own sensors, no watch required.
That's the core of it now: gym logging + GPS running tracking, in one place, free, no subscription wall on your own data. Android only for now (iOS is coming once I get access to a Mac).
Would love to hear from anyone who's dealt with motivation dips like I did, or anyone who tracks both lifting and running and has opinions on what's missing. Happy to answer anything about the build too — I've been doing this mostly solo.
