I build Random Bible, a Chrome extension and a website at random-bible.com.

The extension replaces the new tab page with a Bible verse over a full-screen wallpaper, with a large clock and the date. No feed, no shortcut grid, no ads. Every tab draws a new verse, or you can switch to Verse of the Day and keep one verse until midnight. You can also filter the draw by mood, so verses come from a set chosen by hand for anxiety, grief, gratitude and a few other states.
