Formula Foundry

Formula Foundry is a formula editor add-on for Google Sheets and Microsoft Excel. The native formula bar squeezes long formulas onto one unformatted line; Formula Foundry opens them in a multi-line editor that works like a code editor, with syntax highlighting, auto-indentation, error checking, multiple tabs, and dark mode.

Global @@variables replace hardcoded constants: define @@TaxRate once, use it in any number of formulas across tabs, and change it in one place. A snippet library keeps tested formulas for reuse; on the Business plan it is shared, so a team draws on the same approved versions.

The AI assistant turns a plain-English description into a working formula, explains it line by line, and diagnoses errors using the formula open in the editor. A visual builder assembles nested functions field by field with a live preview. The built-in translator converts Excel formulas to Google Sheets syntax and flags functions that do not translate.
